The Nature of Rag Rug Weaving, Ellen Thomas

The Carnegie Visual Arts Center describes this exhibit as handwoven rag rugs by Ellen Thomas, from traditional utilitarian floor rugs to contemporary, minimalist tapestries with nature-inspired scenes. It says the pieces are made from upcycled home textiles on cotton rug warp.
It runs Oct. 27 through Dec. 12 at the Carnegie in Decatur, and the Carnegie lists it as free. The Carnegie lists a reception on Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 7:30 pm, and gallery hours of Tuesday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.
