First Solar HEROES 5k

First Solar's HEROES military resource group hosts the second annual HEROES 5k at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center on Saturday, November 7. The 5k run and 5k ruck start at 7:30 am and the 1 mile fun run at 8:15 am. The 5k course runs around the Pathfinder Shuttle and the Saturn V rocket and is, per the organizers, a USATF certified road course.

Registration is $30 for the 5k run or ruck, $20 for the 1 mile fun run, or $35 for the 5k plus mile bundle. The ruck divisions use set pack weights (30 lbs. for men, 20 lbs. for women), and the organizers say the event is open to everyone. The registration page says all proceeds go to Still Serving Veterans, a local military support nonprofit.

See the official registration page for details and packet pickup.
