Galaxy of Lights 5K Race

Huntsville Botanical Garden's annual timed 5K Race takes runners along the Galaxy of Lights trail on Monday, November 30, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., before the holiday driving tour opens for the season. The 3.1-mile course is mostly paved with a few short gravel sections, and a certified course map is linked from the Garden's page.

Runners start in assigned waves (Wave 1 at 6:00 p.m., Wave 2 at 6:30 p.m.). Advance registration is required and closes Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. CT. The Garden lists registrations as final, non-transferable and non-refundable. Pets, strollers, headphones, bicycles and non-registered participants are not permitted on the course. Registered runners get refreshments in the Nichols Arbor afterward, and spectators can buy refreshments near the Grisham Pavilion starting at 5:30 p.m.
