Best Date Night Restaurants in Huntsville

Steakhouses, Italian, and a historic-square tasting menu: here is where to book when you want a proper night out in Huntsville.

Huntsville's dining scene has more polish than most people expect, and a handful of restaurants are exactly right for an anniversary, a birthday, or a night you want to feel special. Reservations are a good idea for all of these, and menus change with the season.

Cotton Row - Courthouse Square Classic

Cotton Row is in a historic three-story brick building from 1821 on Courthouse Square, at 100 Southside Square. Chef James Boyce serves a seasonally driven Modern American menu with Southern influences and classical French technique, and the award-winning wine cellar is a big part of the appeal. It is the most obvious pick for a special occasion in Downtown Huntsville.

Connors Steak & Seafood - Bridge Street

Connors Steak & Seafood at Bridge Street Town Centre serves prime steaks, chops, and fresh seafood from wood-fired grills. The restaurant was named to OpenTable's Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America list in 2023, and the Huntsville Business Journal voted it Best Upscale Restaurant in 2024 and 2025. It is a natural dinner after browsing Bridge Street.

Ruth's Chris Steak House - Twickenham Square

Ruth's Chris Steak House is in the Twickenham Square development, a short walk from the historic Twickenham district, so you can pair dinner with an evening stroll past the old homes.

Nick's Ristorante - Northern Italian in South Huntsville

Nick's Ristorante on Bailey Cove Road serves Northern Italian dishes alongside Certified Angus Beef and fresh seafood. Its own site calls it "Best Steak in Alabama" and it has a cigar lounge. It has been around for more than 15 years and is the pick for South Huntsville.

Pane e Vino - Rustic Italian by the Park

Pane e Vino describes its food as rustic chic Italian in an artistic setting near the Huntsville Museum of Art, with views over Big Spring Park. It works as a relaxed but romantic dinner date, especially after a gallery visit.

Make It a Full Evening

Start with a walk through Big Spring International Park, dinner at one of the above, then catch a show at the Von Braun Center or The Orion Amphitheater.
