John Hunt Park
Huntsville's largest park at nearly 450 acres, with playgrounds, a skatepark, disc golf, ice rinks, and ballfields.

Huntsville's Central Park
At nearly 450 acres, John Hunt Park is the largest park in the city's system and functions as Huntsville's version of a central park. It is packed with things to do: a playground, a skatepark, an 18-hole disc golf course that opened in 2023, an outdoor fitness court, a tennis complex, ice rinks for skating and hockey, mountain bike trails, and baseball and softball fields.
Good for a Few Hours or a Whole Day
Because it holds so many separate amenities, it works equally well for a quick playground stop or a longer visit that mixes disc golf with a walk on the trails. Nearby Brahan Spring Park adds a splash pad if you are visiting in warm weather.
Nearby
It is a short drive from Big Spring International Park and downtown, so it is easy to combine with a museum stop or lunch.
